Dr. Charlie Herman Chiropractor, Owner
Dr. Charlie has been doing body work since 2002. She started her journey in California training with a master in Thai Massage Therapy. She continued her massage education at the Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy in Colorado Springs. During this time, she completed 1,150 hours of training, received certifications in Neuromuscular Therapy (IANMT), nationally certified (NCBTMB), Spa treatments, Aromatherapy, Myofascial Release Technique, Hot Stone massage, Prenatal massage, Infant and Pediatric Massage, Sports Massage, Russian Massage, Corporate/Chair Massage, and Hospice/Elderly massage. Dr. Charlie practiced massage for several years before becoming an instructor and administrator at a local massage therapy school. She continued private practice while working at the school and during the time she was in school to finish her bachelor’s and doctorate.
Dr. Charlie received her Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Doctorate of Chiropractic from Cleveland Chiropractic University in August of 2015. During her doctorate program, she also became certified in Meridian Therapy (Acupuncture) and attended weekend seminars for two years of a Prenatal and Pediatric program through ICPA (International Chiropractic Pediatric Association). She currently holds a certification in Webster Technique (prenatal care adjustment). Dr. Charlie’s next step is working with the ICPA on a research project. In addition to these certification programs, she has taken classes or seminars on Diversified Manual Adjusting, Kinesiology Taping (RockTape and FAKTR), Thompson Technique, Activator, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Technique (FAKTR), Flexion and Distraction (Cox Technique and Leander Motion Assisted Adjusting Technique), Gonstead, and SOT (Sacro-Occipital Technique).
Dr. Charlie is native to Lawrence. She loves her hometown, but also enjoys traveling with her husband, Danny, to visit family and friends, see the sights, and attend various live productions (concerts, musicals, & plays). Her favorites are Cirque du Soleil and shows on Broadway. She likes to read, watch movies, listen to music, and paint (especially at Pinot’s Palette). Dr. Charlie derives great pleasure in cooking and loves to share her creations with any willing soul. She appreciates trying new foods and new restaurants. One favorite pastime is playing “Parking Spot Roulette” with her husband. When downtown is busy, they drive Mass St. until they come upon an open parking spot. They park and then walk to the nearest eatery to dine. She recommends trying this as you never know where you may end up for your meal!
